Hi! I'm Sue Burkett, a Kentucky artist who enjoys working with color, large shapes, and patterns. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and have been a practicing artist and art educator for the past 40 years. Strongly influenced by Kimon Nicolaide's THE NATURAL WAY TO DRAW, my art work reflects the use of lines to define the edges, and the contours of things I observe. I love to incorporate patterns into my art using paint, paper, textures and found objects. When not helping at the Sheltowee Art Co-op in downtown Somerset, Kentucky on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, I can be found working hard in my studio on Harrison Knob, our family's farm in Faubush, Kentucky.
